I have a strength training session at 5 PM today. What should I eat before and after?
Before training (2h ahead), have something with complex carbs and protein — for example rice with chicken or oatmeal with protein. Around 400 kcal.
After training within 30 minutes, have a protein shake (30g protein). An hour later, a full meal — e.g. salmon with sweet potatoes and vegetables.
What about hydration?
Drink 500ml of water 2h before training. During training, 150-200ml every 15 minutes. After training, replenish gradually. If you train for more than an hour, add electrolytes.
